Ensaimada is the tastiest souvenir ever! Ensaimada is definitely one of the most famous Mallorcan sweets, without which no tourist leaves the Balearic island. Ensaimada is a delicate bun, filled with various sweet fillings and sprinkled with powdered sugar. The product is baked in ovens, that are heated with wood. Real Ensaimada de Mallorca is prepared without filling, but many people prefer to cook this product with the addition of sweet jams, custard or chocolate cream, honey, nougat paste, cream and even sobrassada. The only traditional dessert filler is pumpkin jam. There is an option to buy it in the Airport of Palma as well.
