Beaches in Mallorca

Mallorca has beautiful white sand and turquoise blue water beaches. There are around 262 beaches in Mallorca and over 60 of these beaches are a “Blue Flag“ – the Foundation for Environmental Education’s award for quality of water, environmental management, safety and services, lifeguards and other tourism services. Mallorca’s beaches range from long stretches of golden sand sliding into shallow blue seas to quiet rocky coves with crystal clear waters. Many of the bigger beaches have been claimed by resorts but there are many more to discover off the beaten track.

The island of Mallorca has a wide variety of types of beach. In the north and south you will find plenty of sandy beaches, on the east coast lot of lovely coves. The west coast is famous for its rugged mountainous coastline with cliff edges.

These are popular beaches for families: Santa Ponsa, Camp de Mar, Cala Millor, Alcudia, Cala Molins etc. Beaches loved by locals: Cala Deia, Cala Portal Vells or Cala Varques. Beaches close to nature: Es Trenc, Es Comu, Es Maquer, Cala Mondrago, Cala Agulla, Formentor or Sa Canova beaches. Hidden beaches: Cala Varques, Cala Tuent, Playa del Coll Baix.
