This museum is dedicated to exhibiting and conserving the natural heritage of the Balearic Islands and making the public aware of the importance of its preservation.
The Museum of Natural Sciences was found by a group of naturalists, enthusiasts and specialists in different branches of Biology and Earth Sciences. They decided to found an association whose purpose was the creation of a natural history museum, botanical gardens located in a natural surroundings. In 1992, the Museum of Natural Sciences opened their doors to the public.
The Museum of Natural Sciences has five exhibition rooms, an audiovisual and conference room, a reading room and library, services, a nature classroom to carry out educational workshops.
The collection in the Museum of Natural Sciences includes fossils that explain the history of natural sciences in the Balearic islands, such as photographs, reproductions or documents of the naturalists who have worked here.
