This is a gem, hidden amongst the pretty streets, in Old Town Soller. If you will find it difficult to get there – ask locals for directions, everybody knows the Art Nouveau building in the town of Sóller. It is easy to miss, but it is well worth the visit. The Can Prunera Museum of Art is located in a fantastic old house. If you are no art fan, you can just enjoy wandering around the grand old house, because the building itself is stunning.
Attention to detail is everywhere, if you will look out for the beautiful window you will see engravings of dragon flies and butterflies. You can also become a little obsessed of the beautiful floor and doors of this charming Maison. Modernist furniture which is original to the house are creating an elegant atmosphere in the whole house.
With so much to take in, don’t forget to admire the modern art which is located throughout the house, with large galleries on the top floor and in the basement, where original features from the ancient kitchen have also been well preserved.
It’s a great place to take kids with as it is really spacious and interesting place with its fabulous floor tiles, small sculpture garden and scary doll collection!
So tear yourself away from hiking, cicling and sun bathing and take an hour to stroll around this well preserved historical Art Nouveau house.
