Soller

The authentic mediterranean town Sóller you will find in the heart of the ‘valley of oranges’. Soller offer much to do for its visitors and residents. The main square – Plaza de la Constitución – is allwaus busy with numerous bars and cafés, just in front of Sant Bartomeu church which is one of the tourist attractions here in the town.
The town of Sóller in the northwest of Mallorca became rich because of the valley’s ample citrus groves. In the 19th century, when the area was isolated from the rest of Mallorca by mountains, the oranges were shipped to France from the nearby coast Port de Sóller. Many locals went to work in France and returned to build some of the charming properties that grace this town today.

Sóller is also famous for delicious ice cream and local products like extra virgin olive oil, local orange balsamic vinegar, chutneys, jams, preserves, pâtés, and charcuterie or delicious liqueur Angel d’Or. No visit is complete without trying freshly squeezed orange juice.
If you will decide to visit Soller, then do it on Saturday. In the Market of Soller you can find a unique spaces selling designer fashions, local art and decorative items like hand-painted furniture. Do not forget to visit restored Art Nouveau building, Can Prunera, the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences, Jardí Botànic, a garden featuring many Balearic plant varieties and much more. Enjoy!
