Canyamel is situated on the far east coast of the island of Mallorca in the municipality of Capdepera. Canyamel is a small and relaxed coast resort. During the 18th century, sugar cane used to be grown in this part of Mallorca and this where the name Canyamel is derived from. Canyamel means „sugar cane“ and „honey“ in ancient Latin.
