S’Algar beach is situated on the eastern coast of Mallorca, in villige of Portocolom. Its name comes from the huge amount of seaweed which can normally be found here. The surroundings was used to take the vegetal underwater species for the fertilization. It is a sandy beach, but depends by the storms or you can enjoy the sand or not. S’Algar is fine-grained sandy area, but in the surroundings of this cove you will find lots of rocky areas. S’Algar is a large cove (400m long and 10m width) with really clean waters. There is no natural shade, so be prepared with umbrellas if planing to stay a whole day. There no facilities on the beach, no parasols, restaurants or water sports rental. Go well prepared, take some food and plenty of water.
The accessibility by car is easy until this piece of coast, following the signs to Portocolom. You can leave the car in the surroundings. S’Algar has not many visitors. It is popular spot for fishermens, residents of Felanitx and Portocolom or vacationers who travel around here to enjoy the clean water.
