Muro beach

Muro beach is located in the town of Muro, near Alcúdia, on the northeast coast of the island. Muro beach it is the largest white sand beach on Mallorca and includes four sections that in total cover nearly six kilometres.

Muro beach is just a perfect beach for all ages groups. It is a very popular for families because of its easy access, restaurants, kid focused and the exceptionally shallow waters in which you have to walk quite far before it gets deep. All of the large hotels and rental apartments are within walking distance to the beach.
Muro beach is divided in 4 different sections. Section 1- beach, known simply as Muro beach, is only about 3 kilometres from Port d’Alcudia beach. It is the most popular beach on Muro beach, with a large number of hotels and restaurants, easy parking and other facilities.

Section 2 is a bit less busy, but is still very easily accessible to all of the same facilities. Section 3, also known as Sa Comu, the beach is quieter, with facilities and access requiring more of a walk. Parking can be found at both ends of this 1.5 kilometre beach. This section is part of the S’Albufera Natural Park and sand dunes and pine trees surround this natural stretch of beach.

The last one, Section 4, called Es Cappellans, starts to become more popular again with all restaurants, hotels and facilities right at the beach. This final sector is right near the popular resort of Can Picafort.

Muro beach is generally quite calm with clear blue water. There are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas available for rent and water sports are everywhere. A lot of cafe’s, restaurants, hotels, and shops, small parks and facilities is another bonus that makes this a major holiday destination in the summer months. The nearby town of Muro has supermarkets and pharmacies.

Muro beach has managed to stay one of the cleanest and eco-responsible beaches on the island, and was awarded with the prestigious Blue Flag award. Es Cappellans on Sector 4 is the only beach here without a Blue Flag award.
