It’s a beach situated in the south of Mallorca, a 30 minute walk east from Colonia St Jordi. It is a vast stretch of white sand that sits in a protected bay. If you are looking for a beach where you can get away from it all, then Es Carbo may be the one for you.
Es Carbo is over 1 kilometre long, but there is little going on here in terms of action and activities. There are no umbrellas or lounge chairs, no water sports activities for hire, no facilities, and no restaurants. The beach attracts many local residents because of the lack of amenities and access, you’ll see more of a younger-middle age crowd here, hikers and the hearty beach goer, and less families with children.
Es Carbo is only accessible by foot or by boat. On foot from Colonia San Jordi you must walk 2.3 kilometres, about 30 minutes along low lying cliffs and sand to reach the beach. You can also reach it from Ses Salines beach, but that is a 6 km walk. It is possible to anchor your boat here, which many do and it would be the easiest way to arrive.
