Coll Baix beach

Beach of Coll Baix is one of the most special beaches on the island, but it is not easy to reach. It is located in the north of Mallorca, some 8 km away from Alcúdia. Beach of Coll Baix is about 240 m long and 60 m wide. The stunning beach is popular with those who love hiking, as it is only accessible by boat or foot. It is difficult to reach, so beach is not crowdy at all and you may even have to yourself. This spectacular beach is surrounded by steep rocky cliffs and Mediterranean forest. The beach of Coll Baix has fine- grained sand and blue waters. Condtiona are good for anchoring boats, but keep a reasonable distance from the coast. Depth of about five metres, on a sandy and rocky ground.

The accessibility by car is easy only until Alcúdia. Later, you need to follow a tiny road which leads only to this beach (carrer de la Muntaña). A road is in very bad conditions, so be careful. After leaving the car on some small rocky patch next to the road, the rest of the road up to the mountain must be done on foot. The trail is about 5 kilometers long, but it is worth to do it. The trail leads through changing beautiful landscape, pine woods and the Mediterranean sea. The road gets a little more difficult at the end, but as closer you get ,better view you get. Be prepared, wear good hiking shoes (no sandals or flip flops) and take some water. This explains that the beach is not crowded at all. There are no facilities at the beach at all. So if you are planning to stay a whole day here go prepared and enjoy this unspoiled beach surrounded by high mountain slopes.
