Cala Murta

Cala Murta

Cala Murta is located on the Formentor peninsula on northern Mallorca arround 15 kilometres from Port de Pollensa.
Cala Murta is a beautiful hidden beach surrounded by cliffs. The cliffs on the sides are populated by holm oaks and surrounded by a pine wood. The beach is only 80 metres long and 20 metres wide. Its sand is mixed with rocks, but water is crystal clear. There are rarely any waves to report, making the bay the perfect place to go for a relaxed swim. Cala Murta bay is perfect for snorkeling as well. The marine and underwater conditions in Cala Murta are excellent for anchoring boats, because it is very sheltered from the wind from the north.
In Cala Murta there are no restaurants or beach bars, just a few tables and benches where you can eat your food, so remember to bring some food and plenty of liquids, especially when it’s hot outside.

Cala Murta beach is well hidden, so you might find yourselves all alone on the beach, even in the middle of the high season.

You can park on the Cala Figuera parking lot (by the MA-2210) and walk to the house right by the parking lot. There you will find a path which leads you all the way from this house to the beach. The last 1.700 metres have to be done on foot following a track because the access is restricted in this area. The trip takes arround 20-25 minutes. These characteristics explain that the beach is not too crowded.
