Cala Mitjana

Cala Mitjana (Arta)

Cala Mitjana or s’Aduaia is a beautiful unspoiled beach, situated at 10 kilometres from Arta. On this beach, it was projected an urbanization, but the lack of water made the project finally impossible.

Dunes, clear water, no buildings give us the feeling of having entered a small natural paradise. Cala Mitjana is fine-grained sandy area, surrounded by low rocky areas with some bushes. There are a lot of dunes that continues for hundreds of metres until the beginning of the nearby hills. Because of this beach situation and exposure to winds, bathing here is very dangerous, as well as anchoring boats. This is a reason, why Cala Mitjana is not crowded at all by local visitors. For health and safety reasons, pets are not allowed at the beach.

The access by car is easy following the signs, but a road is bad preserved. You can leave your car for free in the shade of the pine trees. If you like walking you can make a nice walk to the nearby beach of Cala Torta, a little bigger than Cala Mitjana.
