Cala Mesquida or s’Arenal de sa Mesquida is situated in the northeast coast of Mallorca, at seven kilometres from Capdepera. Cala Mesquida was declared as Area of Natural and Scientific Interest. Cala Mesquida is a sandy area is located between low rocks, dunes and pine trees. Cala Mesquida is about 350 metres long bay, the water is clean.
It is very popular with tourists, especally with families who appreciate the easy access and large area of sand and sea. Cala Mesquida is a good place for water sports activities like diving, snorckling or paddle boats. There is one lifeguard station at the beach, loungers and umbrellas are available for hire. There are showers and one restaurant, which offer snacks, food and drinks. Anchoring boats is too difficult, sandy ground and a depth of five metres only. The wind blowing from the north, northeast and northwest makes the swells grow and there are also some dangerous sea currents from the channel of Menorca.
The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and there is a large car park at the beach as well as free parking on the streets nearby. The last 200 meters must be done on foot until you reach Cala Mesquida. The nearest bus stop is located at 200 metres. You need to grab a bus in Capdepera or Arta.
