Cala Gat (means ‘the bay of cats’) is a small beach, quite close to the popular resort of Cala Ratjada. The small, lovely bay is mostly surrounded by forest. The water is crystal clear with beautiful blue and turquoise colours and sand is fine and golden.
A nice promenade runs here along the water from the port of Cala Ratjada.
A few stone steps lead down to the small area of fine sand. Cala Gat is only 40 metres long and 20 metres wide, but it is very popular and it is recommended to get there early, if you want to rent one of the loungers. There is a small beach bar with cold drinks, ice and some snacks, loungers hire and free parking is possible close to the beach. The water depth is about average, snorkelers can watch some colourful fish along the cliffs. In summer it can get really crowded, so a space for playing is often limited. Cala Gat is near the lighthouse of Capdepera, so visit to this beautiful bay can be nicely combined with a trip to the lighthouse.
