This excursion near Palma offers the best panoramic views over Palma and Calviá. At the end of the hike you will visit natural caves in Génova. To adapt to your needs, there are several alternatives to choose from: the opportunity to participate only in the hike and after the visit to the cave to taste a full menu including grilled steak or fish in the restaurant next to the caves.
Detailed information about the trip:
The Sierra de Na Burguesa is the southernmost part of the Tramuntana mountains, in which there is the viewpoint “Mirador de n’Alzamora” and from which one has an excellent view of the sea, Calviá and the mountains. This section was a well-known flock until the beginning of the twentieth century, hence the name “Coll dels Pastors”.
The approximately 4-hour route is relatively easy to achieve and leads from Na Burguesa to the Alzamora viewpoint, where you can still see the ruins of an old mountain hut and have spectacular views of Mallorca, both towards the coastal areas of Palmanova and Magalluf as well as towards the Sierra de Tramuntana.
After the arrival of all participants at the meeting point you drive together by car to the parking lot of the statue of Cristo de Na Burguesa. After leaving the viewpoint of Na Burguesa, a slight ascent leads to Coll de Pastor and then to the Alzamora viewpoint, which is at an altitude of approximately 487 meters. Back on a path towards Coll de Sa Creu, which has an easily achievable steep slope and ends at Coll de Pastor. From there you will return to Na Burguesa.
At the end of the hike, there is the possibility to say goodbye to the guide and the other hikers, to resume own plans or to continue with the second part of the excursion, the visit of the Caves of Genoa with or without menu.
Reopened to the public two years ago, these caves are closest to the capital of the Balearic Islands. Its proximity to Palma makes it easily accessible to visitors, as they are located in the residential area of Genoa, which belongs to the municipality of Palma.
Like the rest of the caves and caves of Mallorca, they consist of a series of underground galleries of calcareous origin. These galleries are connected by naturally shaped corridors. The indoor tour takes place in small groups of people accompanied by a guide, descending up to 36 meters.
After an interesting visit to these caves of Mallorca, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy an aperitif, taste a variety of Mallorcan tapas, or sample a full menu with a selection of tapas and a grilled steak / fish.
